Trauma Is Also About What Did Not Happen
People often think of TRAUMA as "the BAD things that happened to me".
And while that can definitely be true, TRAUMA can also be just as damaging when it comes from things that WEREN'T DONE.
If a child DIDN'T HAVE:
* a safe place to be seen and heard
* emotional needs met
* food reliability
* ample time for play
* stability in family relationships
* healthy boundaries established and modeled
* and more...
These things can register as NEGLECT, REJECTION, and ABANDONMENT , which can profoundly affect the way the young brain gets wired.
We get many clients who come in and say, "Well, I didn't have a terrible childhood, so I don't really have a reason to have these problems."
We aren't looking for "terrible childhoods", we are looking for programs and patterns of behavior that you can't seem to change that are actually a result of maladaptive wiring in your childhood. We aren't looking for someone to BLAME, we are trying to give people their POWER BACK by CHANGING THEIR MINDS!!
To gather more knowledge on how everyone can help themselves expand their mindset, we suggest reading our helpful how to be happy book that dives into how we really can rewire our brains for the better!
