Overcoming Worry Using The Metanoia Method

Chronic worry and stress robs you of enthusiasm, energy, and vitality.  It leaves you feeling sick – both physically, mentally and spiritually. Could this be why Jesus warns us against worry in Matthew 6?

As it’s written in Matthew 6:25-27  – “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?”

A 2012 study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association found that 60 to 80 percent of illnesses reported to primary care doctors can be attributed to stress! That was 7 years ago. Studies show that those numbers are more likely 80-90%. Stress has been linked to issues across the entire body and mind spectrum. Some of these are:

  • Stomach issues

  • Muscle aches and pains

  • Joint and back problems

  • Increased blood pressure /heart rate

  • Higher cholesterol

  • Heart attack

  • Depression and Mood problems;  anger, irritability, panic, and anxiety

  • Headaches

  • Auto Immune Disorders

  • And more……

When you’re worried, your nervous system is under stress. A worried mind is a confused mind. Your thoughts probably jump from one negative future event to another with no end in sight. You feel lonely, afraid and lost. Worry is actually the absence of God-loving thoughts. Once you understand how to correctly use your God given power, your thoughts will be full of harmony, love, success, joy and beauty.

What we mean by this is – let’s say you have a fierce desire in your heart; an ambition, a hope, a dream – the realization of which would mean all your dreams coming true and solving your problems. But then… you think about how will this dream will come true? Where will you find the resources? Who will help you? What if you fail…again? Your subconscious mind is pulling up “files” of all the things that did, could or will go wrong based on your previous experiences… and you worry! Your desire is overcome by fear and the cycle of helplessness starts all over again.

Ask yourself this: What do I worry about most?  Now ask yourself this:  What are the biggest problems in my life?

Do you see the connection?  Is it possible that your worry is the cause of your problems and not the other way around? If what you focus on and, in turn, keep practicing is worry… then no matter how much you want life to be different, you will fall back into what you know. Your desire is overcome by fear and the cycle of helplessness starts all over again. But what if something replaced your worry? What if you replaced your worry with thoughts of gratitude, dreams for the future and the good things that you were gifted from your past?

WE want you to realize that your ability to desire is the gift of GOD!

God’s Spirit within you can power your hopes and dreams, if we let the Spirit be our guide. God is within you, telling you to aim higher in all aspects of your life.

This quote from John 14:12-14 NIV demonstrates exactly what we mean -

“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”

God has the power to move mountains. He gives us the same power! Our worry does not have to be the thing that directs our life! The Almighty moves through you to work miracles in your life, but you need to ask for what you want! Not focus on what you don’t want more of. And that’s exactly what the Metanoia Method helps you do.

Whenever you feel worrisome thoughts start to creep in, just remember that God is right there, waiting for you to take captive every thought, making it obedient to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5) so that you can shine like stars in the universe (Philippians 2:15). And if you feel that you need some help to get back in alignment with God’s original plan for your life, then we’re here to help!
